Job summary

Western Express is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to join the BI team in Nashville, focusing on reporting, analytics, and data transformations using SQL and BI tools. This on-site role emphasizes collaboration with stakeholders and delivering scalable data products.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in BI/analytics, strong SQL, and experience with MS SQL, Tableau or Power BI. Hybrid work may be considered after onboarding, with a data-driven culture and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of SQL query writing experience (T-SQL a plus).
• 5+ years in BI/analytics using MS SQL, including SSMS/SSIS.
• Experience in supply chain and/or transportation is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, WebFOCUS).

Responsibilities

• Use SQL (T-SQL syntax) to access, build, and update tables, views, stored procedures, etc.
• Analyze data quality and accuracy
• Ingest and transform data from various internal and external systems to create key performance indicators
• Translate business questions into scalable data products — owning design, development, implementation, and maintenance.
• Develop user-friendly and effective tools to support end users’ needs using MS SQL Suite, TIBCO WebFOCUS, AS400, SQL Viewpoint, or researching options not currently used internally
• Simplify time-intensive, error-prone processes by developing programmatic solutions.
• Communicate proactively with team members and stakeholders on project priorities, timelines, and progress.
• Document processes and procedures
• Manage multiple complex projects in a methodical and structured way
