Job summary

BHS Athletics, Brunswick, Maine, is seeking a Part-Time First Team Volleyball Coach. The successful candidate will have a current Maine Dept. of Education background/fingerprinting certificate and proven success coaching high school athletes.

The role emphasizes developing the sport, fostering positive experiences, and upholding high standards for student-athletes. The coach will collaborate with the Athletic Director, support Brunswicksd community, and help ensure safety and certifications

Qualifications

• Current background/fingerprinting certificate through Maine Dept. of Education is required.
• Proven ability to work with high school athletes in coaching.
• Interest and ability to grow the given sport in the community.

Responsibilities

• Coach at least at varsity/first team level as appropriate.
• Foster a positive and meaningful experience for every student-athlete.
• Develop sportsmanship and high standards on and off the field and connect with players.
• Maintain required safety and certification standards (First Aid/CPR as applicable).

Job Description

Candidates must have a current background/fingerprinting certificate through the Maine Dept. of Education.

Candidates must possess exceptional knowledge of the given sport and proven ability working with high school athletes. Previous coaching experience associated with level (varsity, jv or first team) of this position is strongly preferred Candidates must demonstrate interest in and ability to grow the given sport in our community Candidates must demonstratecommitment to fostering a positive and meaningful experience for every student-athlete in their program Candidates must be dedicated to developing sportsmanship, setting high standards on and off the field and connecting with their student-athletes Candidates must have, or have the ability to attain, MPA Coaching certifications in:Foundations of Coaching, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Concussion, Heat Acclimatization, Protection from Abuse, Student Health/Suicide Prevention, Implicit Bias and Bullying, Hazing and Inapproproate behavior. Candidates must have, or have the ability to attain, current First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
