Job description

Mass General Brigham relies on a wide range of professionals, including doctors, nurses, business people, tech experts, researchers, and systems analysts to advance our mission. As a not-for-profit, we support patient care, research, teaching, and community service, striving to provide exceptional care.

Job Summary

Work Schedule: ~10 hours per week (per diem)

SUMMARY OF MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES This individual will work closely with Dr. Lyons and the research team in the Cancer Rehabilitation (CaRe) Lab, delivering individual sessions in a multi-site study of a telehealth intervention to maximize functional recovery after breast cancer treatment. Interventionists need to complete and maintain human subjects protection and good clinical practice training. Interventionists will be trained to deliver the intervention components we are testing in the study including cancer survivorship education, goal-setting and problem-solving and priority elicitation, while adhering to the study's protocol. Study participants are allowed to decide whether to engage in the sessions via telephone or videoconference, so interventionists need to be comfortable with both modes of delivery. Interventionists will document the timing and content of sessions within a REDCap database built for the study. The project manager will assign participants to the interventionists that best match their preferences for timing and availability; flexibility in working hours is preferred. The position is designed for remote work and interventionists must have access to a private space in which to complete the sessions. The position is ideally suited for an occupational therapist, nurse, or other clinical specialist who is interested in gaining research experience within an NIH-funded, multi-site research project.

Qualifications
  • 94% Deliver intervention sessions by telephone or videoconference and complete study documentation
  • 2% Assist with grant and manuscript preparation
  • 4% Perform other duties as needed for the conduct of the research study
Additional Job Details (if applicable)
  • Human subjects protection training, including CITI human research certification
  • Excellent organizational skills and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in both teams and independently.
  • The ability to independently troubleshoot and creatively problem-solve.

This is a remote position. Interventionists may need to work flexible hours at times to accommodate study participants' preferences for study sessions.

Training will be provided after the candidate is hired and will continue throughout the duration of the position as new tasks arise. A qualified candidate will be able to pick up the familiar aspects of the position within 30 days of hire and the unfamiliar ones within 60 days of hire.

Bachelor's degree, clinical experience preferred (e.g., occupational therapy, nursing, mental health clinician)
