Job summary

Casino Arizona seeks a Beverage Supervisor to assist the Beverage Manager in supervising bar operations, pricing, ordering, and scheduling. This role acts as a working supervisor, performing duties personally or through staff, on swing shifts in the Food and Beverage department.

The position requires a GED or high school diploma, 3 years supervisory experience, POS experience (InfoGenesis preferred), and knowledge of AZ liquor laws. A Food Handler's Card is required.

Qualifications

Assists the Beverage Manager in the supervision and coordination of the overall activities of the Bar operation as assigned. Acts as a working supervisor, responsible for pricing, ordering, scheduling and overseeing the bar activities and performing duties personally or through subordinates.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises the Lead Bartender, Bartender, Bar Back Attendant and Beverage Servers in a specific bar outlet, showroom, banquet or outdoor concert event on a given shift. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Ensures excellent customer service for every guest, every time.


• Ensures that bartenders are using correct beverage recipe procedures.


• Acts as working supervisor and performs bartender duties when necessary.


• Estimates and orders liquors, wines, or other beverages, and supplies.


• Conducts monthly inventory and extends them with current pricing.


• Manages the day-to-day operation of Bar in accordance with policies and procedures.


• Maintains and instructs assigned personnel on safety policies and procedures.


• Verifies validity of casino complimentary slips for the food and beverage check.


• Maintains cleanliness of designated areas as directed in accordance with established health and safety standards.


• Ensures designated work areas, flatware, glasses, dinnerware and other items used to serve customers are free from hazards (i.e. chips, breaks, liquid on the floor, etc.).


• Hires and trains Tribal Members consistent with the casino’s Community and Indian Preference guidelines.


• Communication with Main Liquor Room employees in the proper movement and accurate receiving and accounting of product.


• Responsible for maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of Credit Card Compliance requirements commonly known as PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance by attending training provided by Casino Arizona, at least once a year or more if required by management. Signature verification of course attendance will be required.


• Responsible for the enforcement of PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance regulations to protect card holder data and adhere to the standards to protect the guests’ private card information. This includes, but is not limited to, observing and reporting inappropriate card handling activity, of either customers or by employees, as defined by PCI.


• Responsible for the enforcement of all applicable regulations, under the code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, as it pertains to this position. This includes, but is not limited to, observing and reporting suspicious activity, of either customers or employees, as defined in the Code of Federal Regulations.


• Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all applicable regulations under the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, by attending Title 31/Anti-Money Laundering training, provided by Casino Arizona, at least once a year or more if required by management and outlined in the Title 31 Minimum Internal Controls.


• Responsible for up to date knowledge on Liquor Laws as pertaining to casino operations.

Education And/or Experience Required Of All Beverage Supervisors

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; 3 years related experience in a supervisory capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have knowledge of basic restaurant cashiering procedures, tray service and beverage ingredients. POS experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of Arizona State Liquor Laws - Title 4 and/or Arizona Alcohol Awareness certification a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must possess a Maricopa County Food Handler's Card.

Computer Skills

Must be computer literate and have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Experience using POS system; InfoGenesis preferred.

Other Qualifications

Must be able to get along with co-workers and be a team player. Must be able to work quickly and accurately in stressful situations and maintain a positive customer service attitude. Can work a flexible schedule and available to work all shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
