Job summary

The Union League of Philadelphia is seeking a Beverage Supervisor for Banquets to support the Beverage Manager in delivering premier beverage service at all banquet events. You will collaborate with the banquet management team and bar staff to maintain consistent service across events and beverage spaces.

Responsibilities include coordinating beverage setups, training staff, monitoring service standards, and ensuring proper handling and storage of products.

Qualifications

• Prior beverage service or banquet operations experience required; supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Open availability including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• RAMP certification (or willingness to obtain).

Position: Beverage Supervisor-Banquets- Full time

Reports to: Beverage manager & Banquets Manager(s)

Summary of Position:

The Beverage Supervisor will support the Beverage Manager in executing beverage tasks for banquet-related events and operations. They will work closely with the banquet management team as well as the bar staff to maintain consistency across all events and beverage spaces.

Job Duties:

• Coordinate and assist with the execution beverage setups for all banquet events (bars, specialty stations, wine service, etc.).
• Ensure accurate staging of beverage products according to the BEOs
• Monitor and ensure staff is maintaining Union League service standards during events.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of beverage products before, during, and after events.

Staff Support & Training

• Assist in training banquet bartenders and servers on beverage standards, recipes, and service expectations.
• Support the Beverage Manager in ensuring consistent drink quality and presentation.

Inventory & Ordering Support

• Report low or out-of-stock items to the Beverage Manager in a timely manner.
• Help organize storage areas for banquet beverage products and bar equipment.

Quality Control & Standards

• Uphold cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards for all banquet bars and beverage stations.
• Ensure compliance with RAMP/serving laws, safety regulations, and club policies.
• Monitor banquet bar tools, glassware, and equipment for cleanliness and readiness.
• Work closely with the banquet managers, events team, and Beverage Manager to ensure beverage service aligns with event themes and member/guest expectations.
• Assist with wine service, champagne toasts, or specialty cocktail stations as directed.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in beverage service, bartending, or banquet operations required; supervisory experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Open availability includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• RAMP or equivalent certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to move kegs and products up to 50lbs.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
