Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Beverage Service Supervisor to manage the beverage team and operations during assigned shifts in a high-volume environment in New York. You will lead by example, train staff, and ensure guest satisfaction through flawless service and adherence to standards.

The role requires supervisory experience in beverage operations, strong budgeting knowledge, and proficiency with POS systems and Microsoft Office. Certifications such as ServSafe and TIPS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have 19+ years.
• Associate degree or equivalent related experience is required.
• Minimum 3 years in food and beverage management.
• At least 1 year in supervision in high-volume beverage/gaming operations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Strong POS operational and programming experience.
• Knowledge of health, hotel, or food service regulations.
• Proficient in operational financial management and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure payment/comp for food and beverage items.
• Assist staff with cash register balancing and report discrepancies to Finance.
• Ensure prompt, friendly service and beverage preparation.
• Authorize comp transactions.
• Develop drink specials and promotions.
• Stay current with beverage service trends.
• Attend trainings and ensure compliance with required certifications.

Job description

• Ensure excellence in guest satisfaction through effective staff training and hands-on, lead-by-example management
• Provide tools, training, communication, and supplies for exemplary guest service
• Assist with scheduling Beverage team members for regular operating hours and special events
• Monitor par levels and daily supply inventory
• Maintain beverage inventory and supplies according to business demands
• Participate in weekly inventory and assist the Beverage Manager with weekly and monthly orders
• Ensure payment and/or comp authorization is received for food and beverage items
• Assist staff with proper cash register balancing and report discrepancies to Finance
• Ensure prompt, efficient, friendly service and beverage preparation
• Authorize comp transactions
• Participate in developing drink specials and promotions
• Stay current with beverage service and offering trends
• Attend meetings and training sessions and ensure team compliance with required trainings and certifications
• Comply with department policies, procedures, internal controls, and applicable regulations
• Promote positive public and employee relations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must be 19 years or older
• Associate degree or equivalent related experience
• Three (3) years of experience in food and beverage management
• Minimum of one (1) year in a supervisory capacity in a high-volume beverage gaming operation including Banquets, Entertainment, multiple bars and restaurants
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Strong POS operational and programming experience
• Knowledge of government health, hotel, or food service regulations
• Proficient in operational financial management accountability and budgeting
• Ability to work varying schedules according to business needs
• Ability to secure and maintain NE Gaming License
• ServSafe certification
• TIPS Alcohol Awareness certification
