Job summary

Lassonde Pappas & Co. in Hendersonville, NC is hiring a Process Technician to oversee daily technical follow-up of food processes and train staff.

The role is based at our Hendersonville location with responsibilities spanning production procedures, GMP compliance, and process improvements. Qualified candidates have 3+ years of food processing experience, a science/engineering degree, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ food processing and packaging experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in science/Engineering or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Synthesis and analysis mindset.
• Developed mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge in automation and processing controls.
• Capacity to direct several projects at a time.
• Knowledge of standard GMP.
• Facilitates communication on all levels with a flexible approach.
• Basic knowledge of processing software data (MS Office, Interal, SharePoint, Cognos C11).

Responsibilities

• Elaborates and ensures the daily technical follow-up of production operation procedures, specifications, and GMP.
• Ensures conformity of methods and processing control systems.
• Ensures compliance of programs for sanitary maintenance, calibration, and training.
• Identifies problems and proposes practical, effective solutions.
• Establishes and maintains production and sanitation procedures.
• Collaborates with training personnel on procedures and new technologies.
• Verifies detergents' effectiveness, safety, and dosing.
• Supervises technical studies and data gathering for development.
• Coordinates with Purchasing and Quality Control on complaints involving packaging materials.
• Maintains effective communication with departments.
