Job summary

Union Beverage Packers in the United States is seeking a dependable Machine Technician to operate and monitor production equipment, perform basic repairs, and support downtime reduction. The role requires reading manuals, following procedures, and collaborating with Maintenance and Quality teams to keep lines running safely and efficiently. Weekend shifts and overtime are required, with a minimum 48-hour work week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience operating or maintaining industrial equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical problems.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
• Willingness to work weekends, overtime, and 48 hours per week.
• Strong attendance and reliability.
• Ability to read equipment manuals and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Operate production machines safely and correctly.
• Monitor equipment during production and identify problems early.
• Perform machine setups, adjustments, start-ups, shut-downs, and changeovers.
• Troubleshoot basic mechanical problems.
• Make basic repairs and adjustments before calling Maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Contact Maintenance for advanced troubleshooting or repair.
• Perform basic scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on production equipment.
• Support the preventive maintenance program.
• Inspect machines for wear, leaks, or abnormal noises.
• Read and understand equipment manuals, drawings, and schematics.
• Work with fillers, labelers, packers, conveyors, palletizers, and other production equipment.
• Complete production and maintenance paperwork accurately.
• Keep equipment and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Work closely with Maintenance, Quality, Sanitation, and Production teams.
• Follow safety, GMP, food safety, quality, and company requirements.
