Job summary

Prairie Meadows is seeking a Beverage and Concessions Assistant Manager to oversee fast‑service outlets in Altoona, IA. Responsibilities include hiring, training, coaching staff, and ensuring budgeted staffing levels while maintaining service quality.

You will manage cash handling training, food safety, storage and sanitation, and assist with revenue tracking and cost control. Strong leadership and customer service skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 2+ years in food service with 1+ year supervisory experience.
• TIPS certification or ability to obtain it.
• Serve Safe certification or related certification.
• Experience with inventory, labor/cost analysis and P&L statements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hiring, training, coaching, and ensuring staffing levels meet budget requirements.
• Coordinate training programs for cash handling, food handling, storage, safety and sanitation procedures.
• Engage with operations during service by checking in with guests, monitoring food quality and handling guest requests promptly.
• Monitor staff POS activity and investigate shortages or overages from revenue locations.
• Assist with tracking revenues, payroll, food and beverage costs, and other expenses.
