Job summary

Ford Energy in Glendale, Kentucky is launching a state‑of‑the‑art BESS manufacturing facility. As a Controls Engineer, you will design, program and optimize automated systems for grid-scale storage solutions, collaborating with a startup team.

You will lead automation reliability, mentor technicians, and work across shifts. The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering, travel flexibility, and hands-on experience with PLCs (Siemens/Omron/Fanuc) and AutoCAD/RSLogix.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
• Maintenance experience, including internships, with ability to optimize equipment programs.
• Flexibility to work across various shifts.
• Domestic and international travel may be required.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Program, modify, and troubleshoot machinery using Siemens SP700, Omron, or other PLCs and HMIs.
• Manage interaction between servo systems, frequency converters, and upper-level computers.
• Support and troubleshoot robotic systems (Fanuc).
• Lead fault analysis and root-cause identification for complex automation issues.
• Establish preventive maintenance plans and mentor technicians.
• Support design changes and model code updates for automation.
