Job summary

LG Energy Solution Vertech, Inc. seeks a Field Service Technician to perform field service on Battery Energy Storage Systems in Westborough, MA. This contractor role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and on-site support from installation through O&M phases.

The role requires 2–5 years of relevant experience, electrical/mechanical know-how, and willingness to travel up to 50%. You will document activities, support firmware upgrades, and coordinate with senior staff

Qualifications

• Fundamental knowledge of electrical testing and measurement equipment.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting; ability to read schematics and drawings.
• Experience supporting hardware and software troubleshooting activities.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers and internal teams.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking fundamentals.
• Exposure to energy storage systems, power conversion systems, or related electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Own availability and service-level commitments (SLAs) for assigned sites during service activities, ensuring safety and timely restoration.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on BESS and ancillary equipment per procedures and safety standards.
• Assist troubleshooting, repairs, component replacement, and system restoration under guidance from Senior FSEs.
• Support software and firmware upgrades and routine system checks.
• Document work performed and findings in service tools and work orders.
• Support site transitions into long-term O&M with onboarding and spares.
• Provide remote technical support via phone, Teams, or WebEx.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, site teams, and contractors to execute tasks safely.
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotation.
