Job summary

Primoris Renewable Energy is seeking an Electrical Engineer for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in Colorado. The role focuses on conceptual and detailed design, supporting multiple BESS projects, and guiding CAD designers to produce accurate layouts and diagrams.

Strong emphasis on collaboration across Estimating, Procurement, and Project teams. Qualified candidates have a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or 5+ years in renewables, with experience in BESS design tools and Python.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent renewable energy experience.
• At least 2+ years in utility-scale BESS or Solar PV design or related renewable energy field.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, PVsyst, SAM, ETAP, CYMCAP, PVSOL (BESS Design) and Python.

Responsibilities

• Develop preliminary concepts for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
• Provide technical documentation to Estimating, Business Development and Proposal teams.
• Contribute to detailed design development for awarded BESS projects.
• Lead design optimization across project lifecycles.
• Guide AutoCAD designers for site layouts and single-line diagrams.
• Review utility interconnection documents and related agreements.
• Support procurement and operations with engineering inputs.
• Improve cross-functional workflow across engineering, procurement, scheduling and controls.
