Job summary

A leading energy firm is seeking a BESS Construction Manager to oversee all field construction activities for Battery Energy Storage System projects. This role entails coordinating on-site teams, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and managing project progress and reporting. Candidates must possess a relevant degree and have over 5 years of construction management experience in utility-scale renewable energy, specifically with BESS projects. Strong communication skills and travel readiness are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or sufficient equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of construction management experience in utility-scale renewable energy, with strong exposure to BESS projects.
• Direct experience managing BESS projects required.
• Strong knowledge of civil and electrical construction practices.
• Proven experience managing subcontractors and field crews.
• Willingness to work on-site and travel as required.
• Ability to travel to project sites as required.
• Strong communication and people management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead all on-site construction activities for BESS projects including civil, electrical, delivery, turnover and balance-of-plant scopes.
• Coordinate installation of battery enclosures/containers, racking systems, inverters, transformers, substations, SCADA, and associated systems.
• Enforce all site safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 855, NEC, and local AHJ requirements.
• Ensure construction is executed per approved IFC drawings, specifications, and manufacturer requirements.
• Track daily, weekly, and monthly construction progress.
