Job summary

WR Engineering is seeking a BESS Commissioning Engineer to support utility-scale solar PV, battery energy storage and substation projects across the US. Location: Texas. Salary range $90,000 to $130,000 DOE plus annual bonus.

The role involves coordinating testing and commissioning activities, reviewing drawings and test procedures, and working with project teams, utilities, OEMs and subcontractors to ensure timely completion and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• BA or BS degree required.
• Electrical Engineering background.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the US.
• PV, battery storage or electrical contracting experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities across project sites.
• Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams and test procedures.
• Support the commissioning of PV, BESS, substations, SCADA and power conversion systems.
• Work closely with project teams, utilities, engineers, OEMs and subcontractors.

• Investigate technical issues and support root cause analysis.
