Job summary

Always Fresh Farms in Plant City, Florida is seeking a highly organized Sales and Logistics Assistant to support the Sales Department with customer service and day-to-day operations for fresh berries and produce.

The role requires strong communication, multi-tasking, and the ability to manage orders, coordinate pick-ups, track shipments, maintain customer accounts, and collaborate with vendors, logistics providers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery and accurate invoicing.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of work-related experience in sales or sales support.
• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Communications, Marketing or related field or equivalent.
• Fresh produce sales or account management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of berry markets (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries) preferred.
• Strong understanding of produce supply chains, pricing strategies, and logistics.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced produce sales environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily administrative and operational support to the sales team.
• Serve as a point of contact for assigned customers, assisting with orders and inquiries.
• Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Perform data entry, order tracking, and shipment tracing for timely delivery.
• Coordinate with sales, customers, vendors, and logistics providers.
• Maintain and update customer accounts in internal systems.
• Assist with pricing, product availability, and market conditions.
• Schedule pick-up and delivery appointments with growers, packing facilities, and carriers.
• Assist with moving fresh berry shipments (berries) and resolving inquiries.
• Coordinate with Accounting for account reconciliation as needed.
• Support sales reporting, KPI tracking, and customer reporting.
• Assist with customer presentations, site visits, and industry trade shows.
• Manage monthly contracted carrier rates and freight planning.
• Optimize outbound loads for freight efficiency and on-time delivery.
• Review orders, ship dates, and locations for load consolidation and routing.
• Analyze inventory to determine efficient shipping points.
• Monitor daily freight cost per case and adjust planning as needed.
• Coordinate with teams to ensure accurate, timely shipments and track carrier performance.
