Job summary

PeaceHealth seeks a Bereavement Coordinator‑Hospice for a Part Time, 0.60 FTE, Day position in the Children's Bereavement Program in Oregon. Candidates with strong experience supporting children through grief are highly preferred.

The salary range for this opening is $33.13 – $49.69 per hour. Responsibilities include coordinating bereavement follow-up, recruiting and training volunteers, facilitating services and community groups, and program evaluation.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree required or equivalent education/experience.
  • Minimum 2 years counseling, guidance, or social work experience.
  • Experience in hospice concept of care preferred.
  • Driver’s license and proof of auto insurance (WA or AK as applicable).
  • Certification in Thanatology preferred.

  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate bereavement volunteers with staff collaboration.
  • Facilitate commemorative services for staff, families, and the community; run a hospice fundraiser.
  • Coordinate community-wide bereavement support groups and promote services.
  • Participate in program evaluation and process improvement.
  • Maintain an active role in the Hospice Interdisciplinary Team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Overview

PeaceHealth is seeking a Bereavement Coordinator‑Hospice for a Part Time, 0.60 FTE, Day position. This position is for the Children's Bereavement Program. Responsibilities
  • Establish, coordinate, and oversee bereavement follow‑up services including delivery of letters, cards, and mailings to families; assess bereavement support needs and triage appropriately; carry a case load of at‑risk families.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate bereavement volunteers in collaboration with the volunteer coordinator. Train volunteers and staff in bereavement protocol and orient new staff.
  • Facilitate periodic commemorative services for staff, hospice families, and the community at large, including a hospice fundraiser.
  • Coordinate and/or facilitate all community‑wide bereavement support groups. Offer community‑wide bereavement support as time and need allow. Promote bereavement support groups and related services to the community.
  • Participate in program evaluation and ongoing process improvement.
  • Maintain an active role in the Hospice Interdisciplinary Team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions
  • Consistently operates computer and other office equipment.
  • Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Predominantly works in an office environment; some time spent on site in a medical/hospital setting.
  • Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
