Qualifications

Job description

Position: Clinical Coordinator

Reports to:

Status: Full-time-exempt

Location: Wallingford

Purpose of Position:

This is a full-time, 37.5-hour per week exempt position. The Clinical Coordinator/BCBA provides leadership and supervision to the Benhaven employees assigned to the Wallingford School District. This position is responsible for behavioral assessment, Positive Behavior Supports programming, staff training, monitoring, and writing reports for students in the district school, staff development, and student support services. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the students, staff, and behavioral programming of the Wallingford classrooms. The Clinical Coordinator/BCBA also provides behavioral consultation and administrative support to the Academy as requested by the Academy Director.

This role is responsible for ensuring that behavioral practices are evidence-based, proactive, and aligned with Benhaven's mission and educational philosophy.

The Clinical Coordinator/BCBA provides up to 25 hours per week of direct behavioral consultation and support for the Benhaven students the Wallingford district. The position also supports administrative responsibilities related to the Wallingford district and provides consultation to the Academy as requested.

The Clinical Coordinator collaborates with students, families, staff, district personnel, and outside professionals to support positive student outcomes and a consistent behavioral framework across programs. The Clinical Coordinator reports directly to the Academy Director and works collaboratively with both Wallingford and Academy leadership to support program quality, staff development, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

The following duties are assigned to this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Clinical Leadership

Provide behavioral consultation and clinical leadership to support educational programming throughout the Wallingford program.

  • Develop, monitor, and evaluate behavioral interventions and Positive Behavior Support Plans.
  • Review behavioral data and make recommendations for program adjustments.
  • Support crisis planning, prevention, and intervention efforts.
  • Support special education teachers in the development and implementation of behavioral supports within students' IEPs.
Staff Development and Coaching
  • Provide training and coaching related to behavior analysis, de-escalation, and student support strategies.
  • Support implementation of behavioral interventions within classrooms.
  • Serve as a TEAM mentor and support beginning teachers.
  • Participate in new staff orientation and professional development activities.
Supervision and Evaluation
  • Provide clinical supervision, coaching, and consultation to instructional staff regarding behavioral programming and implementation.
  • Complete performance evaluations of instructional assistants in collaboration with special education teachers.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to special education teachers and communicate recommendations regarding teacher performance and professional growth to the Academy Director for consideration within the formal evaluation process.
  • Approve payroll, leave requests, and related personnel documentation for Wallingford staff in collaboration with the Academy administration and established organizational procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Academy Director to evaluate program implementation, behavioral systems, and overall program effectiveness.
Program Development
  • Collaborate with the Academy Director regarding programmatic planning, staffing needs, and continuous program improvement.
  • Participate in leadership initiatives and program planning
  • Assist with hiring and staffing discussions as needed.
  • Support organizational efforts related to program quality, consistency, and best practices.
Experience and Skill Requirements:
  • Connecticut certification in special education.
  • Current CT Licensed Behavior Analyst credential.
  • Current Board-Certified Behavior Analyst certification.
  • TEAM mentor trained, or willingness to complete TEAM mentor training within an established timeline.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and support beginning teachers.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide behavioral consultation, staff training, and performance feedback related to implementation of student supports.
  • Strong knowledge of behavior analysis, data collection systems, Positive Behavior Support Plans, and evidence-based behavioral interventions.
