Job summary

SSi People in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Benefit Investigation Specialist for the Late Shift to verify patient insurance coverage and conduct benefits research for retail and specialty medications. You will deliver accurate documentation, provide strong customer service, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities include outbound calls to payers and PBMs, documenting case details, and identifying coverage restrictions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in customer service, insurance, benefits, marketing, or sales, or a Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of relevant experience.
• Healthcare environment experience with third-party benefits verification preferred.
• Knowledge of commercial insurance concepts, coverage policies, and government patient assistance programs is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication, data entry, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Make outbound calls to payers and PBMs to verify patient coverage.
• Document case details accurately and communicate findings to internal or external parties.
• Identify payer coverage restrictions and document prior authorization and appeals protocols.
• Support production goals, time targets, and process improvement initiatives.
