Job summary

Sequoia, based in Tempe, Arizona, is seeking a Benefits Administrator to serve as the primary liaison for clients on benefits inquiries and to manage events, audits, and data integrity across HRIS and payroll systems.

You will collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure compliance, support open enrollment, and drive process improvements while maintaining high service standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in benefits administration, HR support, or client-facing outsourcing/enrollment processing.
  • Strong understanding of employee benefits programs and related compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide high-quality client service.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, bswift).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with data integrations between HRIS, payroll, and benefits systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding benefits-related inquiries, issues, and escalations.
  • Process benefits related events within the benefits administration system and directly with carriers/TPAs.
  • Collaborate with vendors, carriers, and internal stakeholders to resolve benefits related issues and ensure compliance.
  • Participate in onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure timely and accurate benefits enrollment and termination.
  • Conduct audits of benefits data to ensure accuracy.
  • Track and manage benefits-related tasks and inquiries using internal systems, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of outsourced benefits administration services, ensuring SLAs and KPIs are met.
  • Act as the primary contact for clients and third-party vendors regarding benefits outsourcing activities.
  • Coordinate implementation and transition of new clients into outsourced benefits platforms and services.
  • Manage data feeds and integrations between HRIS systems, payroll, and benefits platforms including discrepancy resolution.
  • Support annual open enrollment planning and execution, including Benefits Administration configuration and vendor coordination.
  • Assist in developing SOPs and documentation for outsourced processes.
  • Provide training and support to clients and internal teams on outsourced benefits processes and workflows.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality of benefits outsourcing services

This position is based in Tempe, Arizona and only candidates within a commutable distance to our Tempe office will be considered

  • Provide training and support to clients and internal teams on outsourced benefits processes and workflows.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and quality of benefits outsourcing services
What You Bring:
  • 3+ years of experience in benefits administration, HR support, or client-facing outsourcing/enrollment processing roles
  • Strong understanding of employee benefits programs and related compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide high-quality client service to ensure client satisfaction
  • Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, bswift, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of systems functionality across multiple platforms (HRIS,
  • Benefits Administration, Payroll, ACA, Carriers/TPAs)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable with excel and handling large data sets, inclusive of utilizing Excel formulas (v-lookup, pivot tables etc.)
  • Experience with data integrations and file feeds between HRIS, payroll, and benefits systems.
  • Familiarity with service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams
  • Experience supporting open enrollment and life event processing in an outsourced environment.
