Job summary

Amick Farms seeks a Benefits Specialist to manage enrollment, compliance, and day-to-day benefits administration for employees and their families. The role is based in Batesburg-Leesville, SC, with a focus on accurate enrollment processing and timely reporting.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in benefits administration (or 5+ years in HR), strong ERISA/PPACA/HIPAA knowledge, and excellent communication. Proficiency in Excel and HRIS/payroll is required to maintain data integrity and service

Qualifications

• 3+ years of benefits administration experience or 5+ years in HR
• Knowledge of ERISA, PPACA, HIPAA, and related regulations
• Excellent communication and customer service skills with ability to interact with employees at all levels
• Acute attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and HRIS/Payroll systems
• Experience with benefit vendors and enrollment processes

Responsibilities

• Coordinating the monthly new hire enrollment process and providing reports and support to Benefit Coordinators
• Responding to disability eligibility requests from vendors and supporting the FMLA liaison
• Administering the EAP Substance Abuse Program along with local HR
• Collection of Benefit payments for employees on Leave of Absence
• Troubleshooting issues with Benefit Coordinators, payroll and vendors to maintain data integrity
• Staying abreast of compliance and regulatory changes impacting programs
• Providing customer service for local HR and employees and resolving claims/issues

Duties & Responsibilities

• Possesses a broad knowledge of health and retirement plans and the ability to communicate and educate others about the plans.
• Responsible for:
• Coordinating the monthly new hire enrollment process and providing reports and support to Benefit Coordinators.
• Responding to disability eligibility requests from vendor and supports FMLA liaison.
• Administering the EAP Substance Abuse Program along with local HR.
• Collection of Benefit payments for employees on Leave of Absence.
• Troubleshooting issues and resolving errors with Benefit Coordinators, payroll and benefit vendors to optimize data integrity.
• Staying abreast of compliance and regulatory changes / updates that may impact company programs and procedures.
• Providing customer service for local HR representatives and employees and assistance with claim/issue resolution.
• Protection of the privacy and confidentiality of the employees and their family's health at all times.
• Assists Benefits Supervisor with projects and other department initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree or HR/Benefits certification preferred
• 3+ years experience in Benefits administration or 5+ years in Human Resources
• Knowledge in ERISA, PPACA, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements
• Acute attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise
• Excellent communication and customer service skills and ability to communicate with, support, and maintain relationships with employees of all levels.
• Interpersonal skills with experience handling confidential and sensitive information
• Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with Microsoft Suite (Intermediate Excel skills)
• Experience with HRIS/Payroll and Benefit Administration systems and functionality
