Benefits Programs Manager at The Cigna Group

The Benefits Programs Manager role at The Cigna Group will partner with the Senior Manager, Global Benefits, and the Head of Global Benefits as an individual contributor. The role supports strategy, design, communication, and administration of benefits, with a focus on U.S. Benefits (including Hawaii).

Essential Functions
  1. Administer employee benefits programs in the U.S., including:
  • Medical (including prescription)
  • Dental
  • Vision
  • Flexible Spending Accounts
  • COBRA
  • Board of Director benefit offerings
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, HR teams, and external vendors to ensure benefits are competitive and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Lead Annual Enrollment preparation, communication, and rollout for U.S. employees and the Board of Directors.
  • Work with Cigna legal to ensure plans meet legal standards and regulatory requirements, completing filings and compliance projects accurately and on time.
  • Support M&A due diligence and pilot program initiatives, including logistics, ROI tracking, and adoption.
  • Manage escalations, issues, and trends in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Partner with internal teams to improve population health, utilizing data analysis to identify patterns and recommend strategies.
  • Provide ongoing project support to the benefits team.
  • Qualifications Needed
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
    • Minimum of 5+ years of experience with benefit plans, laws, and regulations (including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA) in large organizations.
    • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) certification preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of current benefit practices and trends.
    • Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
    • Experience with retirement programs and global benefits is a plus.

    For remote work, internet connection must be via cable broadband or fiber optic with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
