Job description

The Benefits Programs Manager role at The Cigna Group involves partnering with the Senior Manager, Global Benefits, and the Head of Global Benefits to support strategy, design, communication, and administration of benefits, primarily focusing on U.S. Benefits (including Hawaii).

Essential Functions
  1. Administer employee benefits programs in the U.S., including Medical (prescription included), Dental, Vision, Flexible Spending Accounts, COBRA, and Board of Director benefit offerings.
  2. Collaborate with senior leadership, HR teams, and external vendors to ensure benefits offerings are competitive and aligned with organizational goals.
  3. Lead Annual Enrollment preparation, communication, and rollout for U.S. employees and the Board of Directors.
  4. Work with Cigna legal to ensure plans meet legal standards and regulatory filings are completed accurately and on time.
  5. Support M&A due diligence and pilot program initiatives, including logistics, ROI tracking, and adoption.
  6. Manage escalations, issues, and trends in partnership with internal teams and vendors.
  7. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  8. Partner with internal teams to improve population health, utilizing data analysis to identify patterns and recommend strategies.
  9. Provide ongoing project support to the benefits team.
Qualifications Needed
  1. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  2. At least 5 years of experience with benefit plans, laws, and regulations (including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA) for large organizations.
  3. CEBS certification preferred.
  4. Strong knowledge of current benefit practices and trends.
  5. Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills; proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  6. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
  7. Experience with retirement programs and global benefits is a plus.
