Job description

Benefits Programs Manager at The Cigna Group

The Benefits Programs Manager role for The Cigna Group will partner with the Senior Manager, Global Benefits and Head of Global Benefits as an individual contributor to support strategy, design, communication, and administration of benefits, with a focus on U.S. Benefits (including Hawaii).

Essential Functions
  1. Administer employee benefits programs in the U.S., including:
  • Medical (including prescription)
  • Dental
  • Vision
  • Flexible Spending Accounts
  • COBRA
  • Board of Director benefit offerings
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, HR teams, and external vendors to ensure benefits offerings are competitive and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Lead Annual Enrollment preparation, communication, and rollout for U.S. employees and the Board of Directors.
  • Work directly with Cigna legal to ensure plans meet legal standards and regulatory filings are completed accurately and timely.
  • Support M&A due diligence and pilot program initiatives, including logistics, ROI tracking, and adoption.
  • Manage escalations, issues, and trends in partnership with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Partner with internal teams to focus on improving population health, utilizing data analysis for strategy development.
  • Provide ongoing project support to the benefits team.
  • Qualifications Needed
    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related work experience.
    • Minimum of 5+ years' experience with benefit plans, laws, and regulations (including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA) in large organizations.
    • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) certification is preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of current benefit practices and trends.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills; proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Discretion in handling confidential information.
    • Experience in administering retirement programs and global benefits is a plus.
