The ideal candidate will have 7+ years in benefits administration, strong Excel and HRIS skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders across a multinational environment in both English and Spanish.

Qualifications

Scope

This is an individual contributor position with no direct reports. The Benefits Program Manager is responsible for the overall administration of the employee benefits programs for Puerto Rico. Reporting to the Director, Benefits – Americas, this position will support a diverse and multilingual population set in the Americas region.

Job Summary

The Benefits Program Manager is responsible for maintaining plan records, auditing data, and preparing various reports and analytics related to plan administration and performance. The position requires day to day coordination with external vendors and internal stakeholders to maximize the employee experience, plan performance and compliance.

Essential Functions & Accountabilities
  • Lead and serve as main point of contact for employee benefits programs for Puerto Rico.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day administration of Puerto Rico benefits programs, partnering with external vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with plan provisions, established procedures, and applicable requirements.
  • Implement, administer, and communicate benefit programs including, but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life/ad&d, disability, voluntary programs, EAP, retirement plan, and COBRA.
  • Work with external vendors and internal stakeholders to maximize the employee experience, plan performance and compliance and strive to continually improve processes.
  • Disseminate mandatory notices and lead benefit communications to the organization.
  • Manage all aspects of annual Open Enrollments – including preparing and distribution of communication materials, scheduling of webinars/meetings, updating the bswfit benefits portal, coordination with internal HR Business Partners and assisting with employee questions.
  • Work closely with the Director, Benefits – Americas to evaluate existing benefit programs against peer organizations to determine competitiveness, trends, and developments.
  • Support merger and acquisition initiatives with leadership, business partners and various stakeholders for a successful integration and transition of benefits.
  • Research and evaluate the company benefits to recommend improvements and new programs which strengthen overall plan design.
  • Identify strategies to improve employee communication and education regarding the benefit plan offerings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup formulas, data reconciliation, and large-data-set analysis.
  • Experience with HRIS and benefits administration platforms, including system configuration, testing, and vendor interfaces.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits administration, vendor management, data auditing, reporting, and compliance practices.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive results without direct authority.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact at all organizational levels.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
Travel Requirements
  • This role may require travel.
  • Estimated less than 10% (5 weeks per year)
Experience
  • 7+ years of progressive benefits administration experience supporting multiple benefit programs, including healthcare, welfare, and retirement plans in a complex, multi-location environment with a minimum of 3 years focused on retirement program support.
  • Demonstrated experience managing employee benefit programs, vendor partnerships, compliance requirements, and strategic initiatives.
  • Experience supporting complex organizations within a regulated, healthcare, medical device, pharmaceutical, or multinational environment preferred.
  • Experience supporting benefits administration for Puerto Rico and U.S. employee populations required.
  • Experience analyzing benefits utilization, enrollment trends, claims data, and program costs to support recommendations and decision‑making.
  • Experience supporting annual Open Enrollment, audits, compliance reporting, and benefits reconciliations.
  • Working knowledge of benefits compliance requirements, including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, is strongly preferred.
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Group Benefits Associate (GBA), or similar is a plus.
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR or related field.
