Job summary

Wind Creek Chicago Southland is seeking a Benefits Specialist to administer all leave programs, enroll new employees, and maintain benefits records. The role involves handling FMLA, HIPAA, and employee communications while coordinating with the Director of Compensation and Benefits.

The position requires strong customer service skills, qualification in benefits administration, and willingness to work irregular hours with possible travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Two years of benefits administration experience with FMLA and insurance plans.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word Windows.

Responsibilities

• Administers all aspects of leave programs and policies per federal/state laws.
• Coordinates medical information and HIPAA/privacy compliance.
• Maintains contact with employees on leave and coordinates return to work.
• Delivers high-quality customer service to employees.
• Documents all calls and communicates employee needs to relevant parties.
• Creates and maintains benefits files; updates as needed.
• Contacts carrier representatives for issue resolution.
• Ensures accuracy of benefits enrollments in admin and payroll systems.
• Updates employee intranet with current information.
• Tracks COBRA notices/payments and issues notices when needed.
• D delivers benefits information at New Hire Orientation weekly.
• Assists Compensation and Benefits management as requested.
• Other duties as assigned.
