Job summary

Tricon Solutions is seeking a Benefits Administrator to support benefits, retirement, and leave programs within a dynamic HR team.

You will address employee inquiries via phone and email, review forms for privacy and policy compliance, and coordinate with Payroll/HRIS to ensure accurate processing and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience with employee benefits, leave of absence, or retirement programs.
  • Associate’s degree in HR, Business, or related field with 1:1 experience substitution possible.
  • Familiarity with privacy and record disposition procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Administer benefits, retirement, and leave programs per policies and laws.
  • Serve as first point of contact for employee and retiree inquiries by phone and email.
  • Review forms for accuracy and compliance with HR policies and privacy rules.
  • Compile separation documents and upload to file storage system.
  • Send new hire benefits emails with enrollment details and requirements.
  • Support annual benefits open enrollment and orientations for new hires.
  • Prepare COBRA notices for terminations and dependents aging out.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, IT, HRIS, and external vendors to streamline ops.
  • Stay informed on laws and policies for benefits administration and retirement.
  • Document standard operating procedures.

Job description

  • Collaborate with Benefits Team members to administer benefits, retirement, and leave programs in accordance with client's policies and procedures and applicable federal and state laws.
  • Support daily benefits operations, processes, and procedures and serve as the first point of contact for employee and retiree inquiries regarding benefits, leave, and retirement programs via phone and email.
  • Review all benefits, leave of absence, and retirement forms and supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HR policies, as well as following appropriate privacy and record disposition procedures.
  • Compile employee and retiree separation documents and upload them to the file storage system.
  • Send new hire benefits emails, including enrollment instructions, plan details, and requirements.
  • Assemble and upload employee recognition reporting to the recognition platform weekly.
  • Partner with the benefits and wellness teams to provide front-facing support for the annual benefits open enrollment process and benefits orientations for new hires.
  • Prepare, send, and file COBRA notices for terminations and dependents aging out at age 26.
  • Review education and safety glasses reimbursement requests for completeness.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Payroll, IT, HRIS, etc.) and external vendors to identify ways to streamline operations, improve the use of technology, reduce redundancies, and improve the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of information processing.
  • Stay informed on changes to laws, regulations, and policies regarding benefits administration, leave of absence, disability, and retirement programs.
  • Document standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills Required

Familiarity with all, but not limited to, the following:

  • Benefits, leave of absence, and retirement programs.
  • ADA and reasonable accommodation process.
  • Project coordination and support methods.
  • Software applications (i.e., JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, Documentum).
  • General Human Resources practices and processes.
  • Related industry, organizational, and departmental policies, practices, and procedures.

Ability to:

  • Communicate clearly, concisely, and efficiently, both verbally and in writing, with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Prioritize and organize assigned work.
  • Review data, prepare reports, and organize projects and assignments.
  • Gather information, reports, and metrics from software systems (i.e., E-1, Documentum, etc.).
  • Work in a team-oriented environment and provide support to the department through a strong work ethic, sense of commitment, and a strong desire to succeed.
  • Make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and standard office equipment (telephone, computer, copier, etc.).
Experience Required
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with employee benefits, leave of absence, reasonable accommodations, or retirement programs.
  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university. In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be substitutable on a 1:1 basis.
