About the Opportunity
Our client is a leading law firm who are seeking a Benefits Coordinator to join its Human Resources team. This role is ideal for an experienced benefits professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, professional environment and wants to leverage their benefits expertise while gaining broader exposure to compensation, leave administration, compliance, analytics, and other Total Rewards initiatives.
Law firm experience is preferred, although candidates with relevant experience in consulting, financial services, or other professional services environments will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
The Benefits Coordinator will serve as an important resource to employees, managers, and the broader HR team, providing accurate and thoughtful guidance on benefits and compensation-related matters while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support the day-to-day administration of employee benefits and compensation programs.
- Serve as a resource to employees and managers, responding to questions regarding benefits, compensation, policies, and related programs.
- Interpret benefit and compensation policies and communicate information clearly and effectively to employees and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate employee benefits and compensation data within HRIS and benefits administration systems.
- Support benefits-related reporting, audits, reconciliations, and data analysis.
- Utilize Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and other data analysis functions, to prepare reports and validate information.
- Assist with annual benefits processes, enrollment activities, and other recurring Total Rewards programs.
- Coordinate with HR, Finance, vendors, and other internal partners to research and resolve benefits and compensation issues.
- Support leave administration and compliance-related activities, including ACA measurement and reporting.
- Assist with compensation-related projects, including pay equity analyses and other Total Rewards initiatives.
- Conduct research and provide recommendations or solutions for moderately complex or less typical employee inquiries.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee, compensation, and benefits information.
- Independently manage assigned projects and responsibilities while effectively balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Contribute to a collaborative HR environment and support the achievement of broader HR and firm objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably within a law firm or similar professional services environment such as consulting or financial services.
- Working knowledge of compensation and benefits principles, practices, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with HRIS and/or benefits administration systems.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data analysis, and reporting.
- Exceptional customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret policies and explain complex benefits and compensation information in a clear, straightforward manner.
- Highly organized with strong time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to data accuracy.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
Preferred / Plus
- Experience with Workday, UKG, ADP, or similar HRIS/benefits administration systems.
- Exposure to leave administration, ACA measurement/reporting, and pay equity analyses.
- CCP, CBP, SHRM-CP, PHR, or related professional certification.
- Total Rewards Expertise: Possesses specialized technical knowledge of benefits and compensation and serves as a resource to others.
