Job summary

North Park University in Chicago seeks a Benefits Specialist to administer employee benefits, retirement, and leave programs. You will educate employees, coordinate with plan vendors, and ensure accurate, confidential processing of enrollments and changes.

Responsibilities include open enrollment, life event processing, and maintaining benefit records while ensuring compliance with plan terms and legal requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field is required.
• Experience administering HR benefits and leave programs preferred.
• Working knowledge of benefit enrollment systems and HR information systems.
• Experience with 403(b) retirement plans, ACA reporting, vendor billing, and open enrollment.
• Spanish-speaking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA, dependent care, HSA, parking, transit, and other employee benefit programs.
• Guide new employees through benefit enrollment and process elections accurately.
• Handle qualifying life events, terminations, and beneficiary updates in enrollment platforms.
• Plan and administer annual open enrollment and communication materials.
• Coordinate with payroll and vendors, reconcile invoices, and maintain accurate records.
• Maintain benefits content on HR pages and resources.
