Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, seeks a Benefits Analyst in Irvine, CA to support Health and Welfare benefit programs, Open Enrollment, and pricing audits. The role includes managing daily benefit setup requests, billing reconciliation, and acting as the pricing expert for complex inquiries.

Qualified candidates will have a relevant degree or extensive experience in benefits, strong Excel skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Associate's degree with three (3) years of experience in benefits, human resources, or related business analytics.
  • High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in benefits, human resources, or related business analytics.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in benefits, human resources, or related business analytics.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook) and Internet and website navigation.
  • High degree of ethics, integrity, and service orientation in all activities and interactions with internal and external individuals.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills, with above-average attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to support requests from multiple individuals, effectively prioritizing tasks to ensure all activities are accomplished within established deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to perform job duties with limited instruction, supervision, and/or discernment.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills required with the ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Able to use good independent judgment and discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and track daily job setup and update requests related to employee benefit setup and pricing for group health and welfare plans
  • Support technical setup and configuration of Allied Universal's benefits programs during annual Open Enrollment, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and flexible spending accounts
  • Perform billing and reconciliation of benefit carriers, requiring advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, MATCH, conditional formatting) and strong analytical capabilities to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Monitor and resolve billing and pricing issues to ensure accurate contributions setup for both clients and the company
  • Act as a subject matter expert and main point of contact for complex or escalated benefits pricing inquiries while delivering exceptional customer service
  • Educate and train field operators on Allied Universal benefits processes and assist in maintaining accurate benefits-related documentation and procedures
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure effective communication, including reporting monthly imputed income for Domestic Partner benefits to the Payroll Tax Department

Allied Universal® is hiring a Benefits Analyst. The Benefits Analyst provides administrative support for Allied Universal's Health and Welfare Benefit Programs, including the daily and annual implementation of employee benefit programs, pricing audits for loss prevention, special projects related to employee benefits, communications, and providing day-to-day support.

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):
  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field of study
    • Associate's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field with three (3) years of experience in benefits, human resources, or related business analytics
    • High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in benefits, human resources, or related business analytics

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):
  • Certifications in Business Administration, Benefits, and/or Microsoft Excel
BENEFITS:
  • $26-$28 per hour

  • Eight paid holidays annually, five sick days, and four personal days
  • Vacation time offered at an accrual rate of 3.08 hours biweekly. Unused vacation is only paid out where required by law.
