Scientific Games, LLC located in Columbus, Ohio is seeking Bench Techs to perform in-house servicing and repair of products. The role involves diagnosing failures and conducting maintenance on mechanical and electronic systems.
Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma and expertise in troubleshooting software/hardware issues. Strong communication and organization skills are required for success. The company values diversity and offers equal employment opportunities.
Bench Techs perform in‑house servicing and repair of company products at an established company repair site or service center. Diagnoses mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures using established procedures. Performs maintenance, testing and calibration of repaired products. Prepares reports for analysis of product failure trends and service ability issues. May communicate with field‑based technicians for details helpful to failure diagnostics or repair, but generally without direct client contact.
Performs both repairs and preventive maintenance tasks on the terminal. Responsible for ensuring that all equipment repaired at the bench is completely reliable and all upgrades (ECOs) are completed. The terminal is made to look as “like new” as feasible. Repairs are affected to a level set by guidelines. Some sub‑assemblies are repaired locally while others are sent to repair depots that specialize in the repair of that sub‑assembly.
Performs administrative duties such as organizing and controlling inventory, documentation, tools, and test equipment. Prioritizes workload to ensure an adequate number of terminals for the field personnel. Ships defective boards, sub‑assemblies, etc. in a timely manner. Properly documents problems on shipped parts and tracks them to ensure a reasonable turnaround time. Enters all repair data into Bench Repair database daily.
The physical demands of this job include sitting, standing, walking, bending, using hands, operating a computer, and having specific vision abilities to include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus while working with computer and business equipment.
