Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC is seeking a Bench Department Manager for the bakery. You will supervise the bakery staff, ensure guest service excellence, and drive sales and profitability across the department in the Indian Land and Waxhaw area.

The role requires strong knowledge of bakery operations, staff development, and adherence to quality and safety standards. Training will precede a bench-to-manager progression within 30 miles of home.

• Ensure the quality of product for sale meets Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Provide guidance, orientation, training and feedback to ensure bakery department hosts achieve satisfactory performance standards.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking and guest service as necessary to achieve standards.
• Maintain department’s labor budget and scheduling standards.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
• Perform PA announcements.

To supervise and ensure that Lowes Foods guest service, merchandising programs, and departmental operation is maintained in the bakery department.

After training, Bench Department Managers are expected to fill a Department Manager role within 30 miles of their home. If no position is open, they will remain in their bench role until one becomes available.

This position would support store locations in the Indian Land and Waxhaw areas.

• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Effective communication, guest service and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Store Manager and Merchandiser.
• Ability to work well with computers.
