Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC is seeking a Bench Department Manager to supervise bakery operations, achieve sales targets and ensure product quality. After training, you may be placed within 30 miles of home and will fill a Department Manager role as openings arise.

You will lead staff, control costs, maintain sanitation, and coordinate ordering and stocking while delivering excellent guest service daily.

Qualifications

• Friendly, outgoing personality with strong guest service focus.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs consistently.
• Experience supervising and training staff in a retail environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Must be 18+ and able to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from bakery staff.
• Achieve budgeted sales, shrink and profits for the bakery department.
• Maintain inventory and supplies.
• Operate department according to merchandising and operational guidelines.
• Ensure product quality meets Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department.
• Provide guidance and training to bakery hosts.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, stocking and guest service as needed.
• Maintain department labor budget and scheduling.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
• Performs PA announcements.

To supervise and ensure that Lowes Foods guest service, merchandising programs, and departmental operation is maintained in the bakery department.

After training, Bench Department Managers are expected to fill a Department Manager role within 30 miles of their home. If no position is open, they will remain in their bench role until one becomes available.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from the bakery department staff.
• Achieve budgeted sales, shrink and profits for the bakery department.
• Maintain desired level of inventory and supplies.
• Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
• Ensure the quality of product for sale meets Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Provide guidance, orientation, training and feedback to ensure bakery department hosts achieve satisfactory performance standards.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking and guest service as necessary to achieve standards.
• Maintain department’s labor budget and scheduling standards.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
• Performs PA announcements.

• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Knowledge of bakery operations.
• Ability to supervise people including training and development.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Effective communication, guest service and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Store Manager and Merchandiser.
• Ability to work well with computers.
