Job summary

PUC Schools is seeking an Inclusion Specialist to support students with IEPs, coordinate special education services, and collaborate with teachers across our North-East Los Angeles and North-East San Fernando Valley campuses. The role focuses on delivering individualized instruction, behavior support, and maintaining student records.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid Education Specialist Credential or intern eligibility, know California standards, and communicate effectively with families.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of California State Standards and subject-specific frameworks
• Experience with State and Federal guidelines for Special Education
• Knowledge of diversity in society, including diverse abilities, culture, language, ethnicity, and gender orientation

Responsibilities

• Instruct and serve students with IEPs
• Inform and assist students with disabilities and their parents
• Coordinate special education services with regular school programs
• Monitor student progress daily
• Co-Plan/Co-Teach/Direct Service Model
• Provide behavior support and essential academic skills
• Prepare lesson plans for substitutes
• Build relationships with students and parents
• Communicate with parents/guardians weekly
• Identify areas for improvement and collaborate on options
• Maintain student records and portfolios
• Collaborate with teachers to meet all students’ needs
• Attend Academic Success Team and other meetings
• Participate in professional development trainings
• Detail-oriented tracking of student grades and attendance
• Work with leadership to ensure methods meet standards
• Perform other duties as assigned
