Responsibilities

• Warmly welcome and greet guests upon arrival and departure with genuine hospitality.
• Assist guests with luggage during arrival, departure, room changes, and throughout their stay.
• Escort guests to their guestrooms and introduce hotel amenities and services.
• Provide personalized recommendations on hotel outlets, dining, spa, local attractions, and transportation.
• Anticipate guest needs and proactively offer assistance.
• Handle luggage carefully and securely.
• Tag, store, and maintain accountability for luggage in bell storage.
• Assist with transportation arrangements, including taxis and rideshares.
• Support VIP arrivals, group arrivals, and special events.
• Coordinate with Front Desk, Concierge, Valet, Housekeeping, and other departments.
• Deliver guest items, packages, amenities, and special requests as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and professional appearance of bell stand and guest arrival areas.
• Remain knowledgeable about daily hotel activities, hours, and local attractions.
• Recognize opportunities to personalize the guest experience.
• Follow all hotel safety, security, guest privacy, and loss-prevention procedures.
• Demonstrate The Joseph’s commitment to luxury hospitality and Forbes standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Front Office leadership.

POSITION OVERVIEW

At The Joseph, the guest experience begins the moment they arrive. As a Part-Time Bellman, you will be one of the first and last impressions our guests experience, providing a warm welcome, gracious assistance, and personalized service throughout their stay.

The ideal candidate has a natural hospitality heart, takes pride in anticipating guest needs, and understands that luxury service is found in the smallest details. This role requires an engaging personality, polished presence, and a genuine desire to create memorable experiences consistent with The Luxury Collection, Marriott, and Forbes Travel Guide service standards.

Schedule: Flexible availability required, including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on business needs

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Warmly welcome and greet guests upon arrival and departure with genuine hospitality.
• Assist guests with luggage during arrival, departure, room changes, and throughout their stay.
• Escort guests to their guestrooms while providing an engaging introduction to the hotel, its amenities, services, and features.
• Provide personalized recommendations and information regarding hotel outlets, dining, spa services, local attractions, transportation, and Nashville experiences.
• Anticipate guest needs and proactively offer assistance whenever possible.
• Handle guest luggage and personal belongings carefully, professionally, and securely.
• Properly tag, store, retrieve, and maintain accountability for luggage placed in bell storage.
• Assist with transportation arrangements, including taxis, rideshare services, and other guest transportation needs.
• Support VIP arrivals, group arrivals and departures, special events, and other high-volume periods.
• Coordinate closely with Front Desk, Concierge, Valet, Housekeeping, and other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
• Assist with delivering guest items, packages, amenities, and special requests as needed.
• Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and professional appearance of the bell stand, lobby entrance, luggage storage areas, and guest arrival areas.
• Remain knowledgeable about daily hotel activities, events, outlets, hours of operation, and local Nashville attractions.
• Recognize opportunities to personalize the guest experience and create memorable moments.
• Follow all hotel safety, security, guest privacy, and loss-prevention procedures.
• Consistently demonstrate The Joseph’s commitment to luxury hospitality and Forbes service standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Front Office leadership.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Previous bell, valet, front office, guest services, or luxury hospitality experience preferred.
• Experience in a luxury, Forbes-rated, or Marriott hotel environment is a plus.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Warm, engaging, and polished communication skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for a luxury hotel environment.
• Ability to anticipate guest needs and provide personalized service without waiting to be asked.
• Strong knowledge of Nashville attractions, restaurants, entertainment, and transportation options is preferred.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with multiple hotel departments.
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to being a supportive member of the team.
• Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality regarding guests and their personal information.
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and gracious in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, mornings, evenings, and special events, based on hotel needs.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly lift, carry, push, and transport guest luggage.
