Position Summary
Bell Staff and Valet attendants are the first impression for guests and vital for the hotel’s success.
You must be 25 years of age or older to drive a company vehicle and transport hotel guests/passengers.
You must be 21 years of age or older to valet and park a hotel guest's vehicle with no passengers inside.

Essential Functions of the Job
- On‑site work required.
- Must be available to work 2 shifts per week.
- Must be available to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends based on occupancy.
- Greet and engage all guests with a welcoming, friendly attitude, showing genuine interest and concern.
- Consistently personalize interactions, using the guest's name in accordance with their preference.
- Communicate with guests in an articulate manner, using correct verbiage and avoiding slang.
- Open and close vehicle doors for arriving guests.
- Offer luggage assistance curbside, notifying guests that luggage will be stored in a secure location.
- Ensure luggage arrives within 10 minutes of registration completion; within 8 minutes for departure or 5 minutes for prearranged time.
- Load and unload luggage carts and vehicles as needed.
- Escort guests to rooms, provide room tours and additional assistance as needed.
- Demonstrate a genuine sense of interest and concern, or anticipatory service when appropriate.
- Serve all guest requests with graciousness, professionalism, and a sense of urgency (e.g., running to retrieve a guest’s car).
- Issue valet parking tickets and properly mark any existing damage on guest vehicles before parking.
- Act in accordance with company policies regarding vehicle usage.
- Safely park guest vehicles in valet lot.
- Share local expertise, providing first‑hand recommendations, directions, and transportation options.
- Drive company vehicles throughout San Luis Obispo County, including daily airport pickups.
- Comply fully with hotel conditions of employment, uniform, grooming, and safety standards.
- Train new hires as necessary.
- Report any guest comments, complaints, or damage claims to manager.
- Communicate graciously and courteously with guests, management, and co‑workers.
- Perform any other job‑related tasks as directed by management.
- Report any moving violations at the time of occurrence.
Qualifications
- Provide proof of a clean driving record prior to employment and maintain it throughout employment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Strong multitasking abilities.
- Professional appearance.
- Ability to work with people.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Comfortable driving vehicles.
- Must be 21 years old.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Exert up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, or 20 lbs constantly to lift, carry, push, or pull objects.
- Stand continuously for the duration of shift (6–8 hours).
- Walk/run continuously for the duration of shift (6–8 hours).
- Run continuously at a quick pace with stride for the duration of shift.
- Work in stressful situations.
