Job Summary:

The Cambria Hotel in Detroit, Michigan, is seeking a dynamic and service-focused individual to join our team as a Shuttle Driver and Bellman. This unique position combines the responsibilities of safely transporting guests in our shuttle service and providing exceptional bellman services to enhance their overall stay experience.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Shuttle Driver Duties:
    • Operate the hotel shuttle in a safe and efficient manner, providing transportation for guests to and from designated locations.
    • Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
    • Maintain the cleanliness and proper functioning of the hotel shuttle.
  • Bellman Duties:
    • Welcome guests upon arrival and assist with luggage, providing a warm and professional first impression.
    • Escort guests to their rooms, explaining hotel amenities and services along the way.
    • Offer assistance with guest inquiries, including providing information about local attractions, restaurants, and transportation options.
    • Maintain the lobby area and entrance in a clean and organized manner.
  • Customer Service:
    • Provide exceptional customer service by anticipating and fulfilling guests' needs with a positive and friendly attitude.
    • Respond promptly to guest requests and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Communication:
    • Effectively communicate with hotel staff to coordinate shuttle services and ensure a seamless guest experience.
    • Report any vehicle maintenance issues promptly to the appropriate personnel.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure the well-being of guests and colleagues.
    • Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all local traffic laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Valid driver's license with a chauffeur's license and a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience as a shuttle driver or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
  • Physical ability to lift and transport luggage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with the Detroit area and its attractions is a plus.
Education and Experience:
  • Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods standing and walking and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending.
  • Must be able to lift to fifty pounds at times.
