Part Time (40 hours/biweekly)

Shift: Evenings

Position Function: To provide transportation of patients to and from treatment areas, and to maintain general transportation/mobility of supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a respectful and professional work environment, avoiding any intimidating, hostile, offensive, or abrasive behaviors.
  • Show respect for patients by knocking before entering rooms and making proper inquiries before going behind drawn curtains.
  • Utilize appropriate mechanical means or equipment to position, lift, transfer, or transport patients safely, minimizing injury risk and promoting proper body mechanics.
  • Assist in related functions as assigned.
  • Safely transport patients, ensuring they are properly attired to preserve dignity and respect during transport.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures regarding signing patients on and off nursing units or departments.
  • Respond professionally to inquiries, phone calls, etc., enhancing the department's image.
  • Refer patient inquiries about their care to the appropriate professional, conveying positive recognition of the department's chain of command.
  • Assist with patient lifts and transfers as needed.
  • Observe and report any changes in the patient's condition during transport.
