Job summary

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain grounds and plant life to ensure a positive guest experience. You will perform exterior landscape tasks, prune and water plant material, and help manage grounds assets daily.

The role requires basic plant knowledge, irrigation awareness, and the ability to work safely in an outdoor casino environment. Strong English communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 6 months to 1 year of landscape maintenance experience (exterior and interior).
  • Basic knowledge of plant material, turf, pruning and fertilization.
  • Knowledge of interior plant material usage and care.
  • Knowledge of irrigation systems and controls.
  • Basic understanding of forklift and sweeper operations.
  • Ability to work in extreme outdoor conditions and stay safety conscious.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions.
  • Team player with ability to communicate with guests and staff in English.
  • Read and write English and communicate effectively with guests.

Responsibilities

  • Interior maintenance of plant life throughout the Hotel & Casino.
  • Plants and trims lawns, trees, bushes, hedges, and shrubs using hand tools or motorized equipment.
  • Landscapes new ground areas, repairs damaged areas, replaces plants.
  • Cleans grounds and removes litter.
  • Daily upkeep of buildings and grounds including cleaning and trash removal.
  • Care, maintenance and inventory of all supplies and equipment owned by the property/management.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Job Description
Responsibilities

The Groundskeeper is responsible for performing necessary skills and demonstrating knowledge relating to the grounds maintenance department to provide positive guest experience.

Essential Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To
  • Interior maintenance of plant life throughout the Hotel & Casino
  • Plants and trims lawns, trees, bushes, hedges, and shrubs using hand tools or motorized vehicles
  • Landscapes new ground areas, repairs damaged ground areas, replaces bushes, hedges, shrubs, and trees
  • Cleans grounds and removes litter
  • Responsible for daily upkeep of the property buildings and grounds which includes cleaning and removing of trash
  • Responsible for the care, maintenance and inventory of all supplies and equipment owned by the property and/or the management company
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 6 months -1 year experience in landscape maintenance both exterior and interior
  • Must possess a basic knowledge of plant material, turf, pruning and fertilization of outdoor landscape materials and landscape equipment used
  • Must possess a basic knowledge of interior plant material use and care
  • Must possess knowledge of irrigation systems and controls
  • Must possess basic understanding of forklift operations and sweeper operations
  • Must be capable to work in extreme outdoor conditions
  • Must be safety conscious
  • Must possess attention to detail and follow written instructions
  • Must be able to work as a team player to accomplish goals of the engineering department
  • Must be able to read and write English and be able to effectively communicate with external guests and internal guests
Work Environment
  • Duties and responsibilities are typically performed on the Casino Floor in a fast-paced, guest-smoking environment, with constant exposure to general public and excessive noise, in the back of house of the casino, which can be faced-paced with excessive noise and the outdoors.
  • On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke and excessive noise.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
