Upon being hired for this position, you will enter a Probationary status, working up to 40 hours per week.

Upon completion of the probationary period, you could become benefit eligible.

Essential Functions

• Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the Williamsburg Lodge Hotel.
• Escort guests to their hotel rooms and assist with their luggage, using a baggage cart when necessary.
• Inform guests about the following:
  • (1) Hotel services available to guests
  • (2) Use of television
  • (3) Room temperature controls
  • (4) Hotel evacuation routes
  • (5) Answer guest questions about the Williamsburg Lodge and Colonial Williamsburg
• Provide transportation for hotel guests to Colonial Williamsburg restaurants, attractions, and other on‑property locations, then return them to the hotel.
• Provide ice service upon request.
• Offer assistance to doorkeepers as needed.

Qualifications

• In accordance with Colonial Williamsburg insurance requirements, applicants must be 21 years of age.
• Must possess a valid Commonwealth of Virginia driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record based on Colonial Williamsburg criteria:
  • Must be able to provide a 5‑year Motor Vehicle Record prior to employment
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • May not have more than 1 moving violation or at fault accident within 12 months
  • May not have more than 2 moving violations or at fault accidents within 36 months
  • May not have any serious motor vehicle violations including but not limited to excessive speeding, reckless driving, DUI/DWI, suspended or revoked license, etc.
• Must demonstrate the highest standards of hospitality, courtesy and professionalism while interacting with guests, employees, managers and supervisors, even under busy and high‑pressure situations.
• Must have the ability to:
  • Acquire in‑depth knowledge of the Williamsburg Lodge and Colonial Williamsburg
  • Handle unexpected challenges with tact, courtesy and professionalism
  • Work nights, weekends and holidays as required

• Transporting and handling up to 60 pounds
• Using a bicycle as necessary
