Job description

Daytime Substance Abuse Clinician / Primary Therapist

We are focused on improving the lives of individuals and families struggling with addiction and mental health challenges. This role supports outpatient treatment programs, including partial care, intensive outpatient, and outpatient levels of care. Client needs are assessed at intake and monitored throughout treatment to determine the appropriate level of care.

Responsibilities
  • Ability to work some evening shifts as needed
  • Participate in obtaining patient informed consent for procedures and treatment
  • Assist in developing and updating treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team and clients
  • Support patients in developing discharge goals and objectives
  • Educate patients on relapse warning signs and relapse prevention strategies
  • Provide and document patient information from evaluations, group sessions, and individual sessions
  • Maintain clear, concise, and timely progress notes
  • Conduct group and individual counseling sessions
  • Utilize clinical skills to provide group psychotherapy aligned with treatment needs
  • Document client progress or regression per established policies
  • Attend daily staffing and treatment team meetings
  • Collaborate with medical staff to deliver coordinated care
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and professionalism
  • Maintain knowledge of program policies and procedures
  • Participate in ongoing education and in‑service training
  • Adapt positively to changing work environments
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Uphold patient rights and report any abuse immediately
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Baker Act procedures and team responsibilities
  • Participate in performance improvement activities
  • Act decisively and effectively during emergencies
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field
  • Active or interim license required (LCSW, LSW, LPC, LAC, LCADC, LMHC)
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in substance abuse treatment
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with EHR/EMR systems
Compensation and Details

Base pay range: $60,000.00/yr – $75,000.00/yr

Schedule: Monday through Friday
