State-of-Missour Behavioral Technician position in Missouri offers a starting annual salary with progression after required certification. 12-hour shifts run day and night, with a $2.00/hour differential for those shifts.
Training is completed within three months, after which pay increases apply in the subsequent pay period. Responsibilities include direct care in the crisis program, assisting with daily living needs, and ensuring safety and data collection for treatment plans, under supervision
Salary: $38,482.45 annual starting salary, with a final annual salary of $46,873.89 once the requirement of being certified to administer medications and completing additional training is met. In addition, this shift receives an additional $2.00 per hour shift differential.
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 1st shift - 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and 2nd shift -7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
Training will be provided with the expectation that the training be completed within the first three months. Upon completion of training, the salary increase would go into effective the following pay period.
This position: provides care to individuals in the crisis program; assists individuals in meeting their daily needs; transports individuals to appointments and activities; provides a safe environment for individuals; provides positive behavioral support; monitors and ensures implementation of treatment plans; assists in the completion of behavior analytic data collection and assessments; teaches individuals skills identified in their individual support plan and behavioral support plan which may include but are not limited to coping skills, self-management strategies, functional communication training, as well as daily living skills (hygiene, grooming, social interactions, meal preparation, food purchases, housekeeping, laundry, dressing, bathing, toileting, feeding, etc.); ensures accurate completion of all required documentation on assigned shift; assists in providing basic health care (taking and recording vitals, administering medication, recognizing and reporting medical concerns and/or emergencies); provides vigilant oversight of the individual’s surroundings as described in their support plan in order to maintain a safe environment; implements interventions to keep all individuals safe including the use of physical restraint when needed; communicates clearly and professionally in both written and oral forms with other team members and actively participates it team meetings as needed; maintains detailed progress notes and collection of health and behavioral data. This position is supervised by the Habilitation Supervisor of the Crisis Program.
Must successfully complete Advanced Safety Care Training and Behavior Technician Training within three months of hire; possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrate patience and compassion; possess excellent interpersonal skills; work well with a variety of different individuals; exhibit ability to think quickly and act calmly in an emergency; demonstrate strong organizational skills; communicate clearly and effectively; possess strong listening skills; demonstrate awareness of proper first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures; maintain friendly and open demeanor at all times; possess a sincere interest in helping others achieve life goals.
High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license; 1 year of relevant experience (substitutions may be allowed).
