Behavioral Support Technician - Crisis Services
Build Your Experience While Making a Meaningful Impact

The Arc of the Ozarks is looking for Behavioral Support Technicians to join our Crisis Services team.

This role provides hands-on support to individuals with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and significant behavioral support needs. Some individuals may experience behavioral escalations that require a calm, consistent, and team-based response.

You do not need previous behavioral health or disability-services experience to apply. We provide paid training to prepare you for the role. Experience with developmental disabilities, behavioral support, mental health, caregiving, or similar work is preferred because of the level of support provided.

Most importantly, you will not be handling these situations alone. Our Crisis Services program operates with a 2:1 staffing model, meaning two team members support one client.

What You'll Do

As a Behavioral Support Technician, you will work alongside another team member to provide individualized support that promotes safety, independence, and skill development.

  • Supporting daily living skills such as hygiene, meal preparation, cleaning, shopping, and community activities
  • Teaching and reinforcing communication, coping, and independent-living skills
  • Following individualized behavior support and crisis-prevention plans
  • Recognizing signs of escalation and responding with appropriate verbal de-escalation and redirection
  • Providing calm, consistent support during challenging behavioral situations
  • Observing and documenting behaviors, progress, and significant events
  • Supporting individuals in their homes and within the community
  • Collaborating with teammates, supervisors, and other members of the individual's support team
  • Helping maintain a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment
Schedule and Availability

We have both full-time and part-time opportunities available and can offer flexibility when building schedules around program needs and employee availability.

Weekend availability is required to be considered for this position.

Candidates should also be able to attend weekday/daytime training during their first two weeks of employment.

Specific hours and scheduling options can be discussed with our Talent Acquisition team during the interview process.

  • CPR and First Aid
