Job summary

LINCOLN COUNTY SCHOOLS-EC (032) in Lincolnton, NC is seeking a Behavioral Support Assistant for the EC Department. The role supports students with behavioral needs, implements positive interventions, and assists teachers with lesson delivery and data collection.

The position is full-time, 7.5 hours per day, 10 months, with benefits. Salary is based on the NC State Retirement System and Lincoln County pay scales, with duties under the Chief of Exceptional Children's Services.

Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Meets ESSA requirements: Associate’s degree or higher (in any area) OR 30 semester hours OR a passing WorkKeys score.
  • WorkKeys: Workplace Documents 4+, Applied Math 4+, Business Writing 3+.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the teacher with the assigned student’s behavior and instructional plan.
  • Maintain a daily service schedule for assigned students and document progress.
  • Sign in/out at school and monitor student transitions and supervision.
  • Document research-based interventions used to support goals in IEP and BIP.
  • Support data collection and progress reporting for behavior and IEP decisions.
  • Assist with crisis intervention training and follow district policies during incidents.

Education

High school diploma or GED

30 semester hours (in any area)
