Job summary

Davidson County Schools Ledford Middle in Thomasville, NC seeks a Teacher Assistant-EC Behavior Support for a 10-month term to assist teaching staff with classroom duties, supervision, and behavior support.

Starting date is immediately. Salary: Pay Grade AIDE with a minimum hourly salary of $17.61. Resume required; 5-year experience credit available per HR documentation. CDL license may be required for bus driving duties.

Qualifications

• High school graduation required.
• 3–6 months related experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of basic needs and developmental stages of children.
• Knowledge of typical behavioral patterns in children.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to operate basic media and office equipment.
• CDL and Bus License required.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers and coordinate instructional efforts.
• Supervise students in various areas (cafeteria, library, playground).
• Prepare and grade student assignments, and help maintain student records.
• Assist in communicating with parents on student progress.
• Operate and support use of media and technology in classroom.
• Drive a school bus when required.
