Alternatives, Inc. in Raritan, NJ is looking to hire an experienced full-time Behavioral Specialist Group Home Coordinator to oversee two specialized four-person group homes serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and significant behavioral support needs, including individuals at the DA/EA tier level. This position combines residential program management with behavioral support responsibilities. The Coordinator will oversee the everyday operation of both homes while working closely with the Director of Behavioral Supports and BCBA to ensure high-quality, consistent, person-centered behavioral and residential services.Are you looking for a career where you can make a positive difference in your community? If so, read on!Behavioral Specialist Group Home CoordinatorFull-Time | ExemptKey Responsibilities:Provide overall operation and management of two four-person residential programs.Supervise, coach, and provide leadership to residential and behavioral support staff.Maintain an active and visible presence in both homes.Work closely with the Director of Behavioral Supports and BCBA in supporting individuals with significant behavioral needs.Perform behavioral/clinical tasks under the supervision of a BCBA.Assess and observe individuals to identify behavioral support needs.Participate in Functional Behavior Assessments.Develop, write, implement, and monitor Behavior Support Plans under BCBA supervision.Develop behavioral strategies, measurable objectives, reinforcement systems, environmental modifications, and skill-building interventions.Teach and train staff on each individual's Behavior Support Plan and behavioral strategies.Model behavioral interventions for staff and provide ongoing coaching to promote consistent implementation.Monitor behavioral data and ensure required data collection is completed consistently.Conduct treatment-integrity checks and identify areas requiring additional staff training.Participate in IDTs, ISPs, clinical meetings, program staff meetings, Human Rights Committee and Behavior Management Committee meetings as appropriate.Participate in behavioral crisis response and required on-call responsibilities.Ensure appropriate staffing, scheduling, supervision, training, and program coverage.Ensure required residential documentation and electronic health records are completed accurately and timely.Coordinate medical, psychiatric, behavioral, day/employment, and other services for individuals served.Participate in screening and selection of potential referrals to the programs.Maintain compliance with NJ DDD licensing standards and Alternatives, Inc. policies and procedures.Conduct regular staff meetings, supervision, and professional development.Conduct announced and unannounced visits to both homes.Maintain positive relationships with individuals served, families/guardians, providers, neighbors, and other community partners.Provide leadership during emergencies and significant behavioral incidents.Ensure the health, safety, quality of services, and well-being of individuals served.About the Opportunity:This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced NJ DDD professional with a strong behavioral background who is ready to take on leadership of specialized residential programs.The Coordinator will be actively involved in both the behavioral programming and everyday operation of the homes, while working collaboratively with and receiving clinical oversight from a BCBA.BCaBAs and professionals currently pursuing BCBA certification are strongly encouraged to apply.Alternatives, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.ind123Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, or a related field.At least one year of supervisory experience in a NJ DDD setting.At least three years of experience working directly with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.At least one year of experience completing or participating in Functional Behavior Assessments.At least one year of experience writing and implementing Behavior Support Plans.Experience monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of Behavior Support Plans.Experience training staff/caregivers in Behavior Support Plans and behavioral strategies.Experience supporting individuals with significant behavioral needs.Crisis-intervention training, such as Safety-Care or a comparable program.Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Valid New Jersey driver's license and acceptable driving record.Ability and willingness to successfully complete all required agency and NJ DDD training.Preferred Qualifications:BCaBA certification or currently enrolled in a BCBA program under the supervision of a BCBA.Master's degree in ABA, Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, or a related field.Experience working with individuals at the DA/EA tier level.Safety-Care Trainer certification or willingness and ability to become certified.
