Job summary

Alternatives, Inc. in Raritan, NJ is seeking an experienced BCBA/GH Coordinator to supervise two four-person group homes and oversee behavioral programming for adults with IDD. The role combines clinical leadership with day-to-day operations to ensure high-quality services.

The successful candidate will develop, implement, and monitor BSPs, supervise staff, analyze data, and coordinate with nursing and providers. A NJ DDD background and active BCBA are required.

  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, or a related field.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience in a NJ DDD setting.

Alternatives, Inc. in Raritan, NJ is seeking an experienced Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) / Group Home Coordinator to provide both clinical supervision and day-to-day operational oversight for two specialized four-person group homes serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and significant behavioral support needs, including individuals at the DA/EA tier level, in Somerset County. The BCBA GH Coordinator will oversee eight individuals and the staff supporting them, while ensuring behavioral programming is effectively developed, taught, implemented, and monitored.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall clinical and operational oversight of two four-person residential programs.
  • Supervise, coach, and provide leadership to residential and behavioral support staff.
  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and other behavioral assessments as appropriate.
  • Develop, write, implement, monitor, and revise individualized Behavior Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Develop measurable behavioral objectives, interventions, replacement skills, reinforcement strategies, and other individualized behavioral supports.
  • Teach and train staff on each individual's Behavior Support Plan and behavioral interventions.
  • Model behavioral strategies directly with staff and provide ongoing coaching and retraining as needed.
  • Monitor and analyze behavioral data and make data-driven clinical recommendations and changes.
  • Conduct treatment-integrity checks to ensure behavioral plans are implemented correctly and consistently.
  • Provide clinical leadership and direction following significant behavioral incidents and restraints, when applicable.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing, supervision, training, scheduling, and day-to-day program coverage.
  • Ensure required documentation, behavioral data, and electronic health records are completed accurately and timely.
  • Participate in IDTs, ISPs, clinical meetings, staff meetings, psychiatric/provider appointments, Human Rights Committee and Behavior Management Committee meetings as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with nursing, psychiatry, medical providers, day/employment services, families/guardians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Participate in screening, assessment, and selection of potential referrals to the programs.
  • Maintain compliance with NJ DDD licensing requirements, BACB ethical requirements, agency policies, and applicable clinical standards.
  • Conduct regular announced and unannounced visits to both homes.
  • Provide leadership and direction during emergencies and behavioral crises.
  • Ensure the overall health, safety, quality of services, and well-being of individuals served.
About the Opportunity

This is not a traditional BCBA consultation position. The BCBA GH Coordinator will be an integral part of the homes and their leadership—developing the behavioral plans, teaching staff how to implement them, monitoring their effectiveness, supervising the team, and ensuring the successful everyday operation of both programs.

We are looking for a BCBA who wants to be present, involved, and directly connected to the individuals and staff they support.

Qualifications
Required
  • Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, or a related field.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience in a NJ DDD setting.
  • At least three years of experience working directly with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • Experience supervising, coaching, and developing direct-care and behavioral support staff.
  • Experience completing Functional Behavior Assessments.
  • Experience developing, writing, implementing, and monitoring Behavior Support Plans.
  • Experience training staff/caregivers in Behavior Support Plans and behavioral interventions.
  • Experience analyzing behavioral data and using data to evaluate and modify interventions.
  • Experience working with individuals with significant and/or complex behavioral support needs.
  • Crisis-intervention training, such as Safety-Care or a comparable program.
  • Strong clinical judgment, leadership, organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid New Jersey driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to complete all required agency and NJ DDD training.
Preferred
  • Experience overseeing multiple residential programs.
  • Experience working with individuals at the DA/EA tier level.
  • Safety-Care Trainer certification or willingness and ability to become certified.
