The Program Support Coordinator provides administrative support forthe School of Behavioral Sciences. The Program Support Coordinatoris supervised by various supervisors depending on thedepartment.
The Program Support Coordinator (PSC) assists in processingapplications to the BSSW and MSW programs and facilitates thegatekeeping process to help ensure that students have a thoroughunderstanding of the profession of social work. The PSC engagesstudents in this self-assessment process to ensure that studentsare a good fit for the program and profession. Developing andmaintaining the admissions, gatekeeping, and tracking systems;assisting applicants; participating in student interviews todetermine readiness for a professional social work program; andadvising students to support them through the program are keyaspects of the PSC’s role. The PSC also supports the programthrough data tracking and analysis and assists the Chair, ProgramDirector, and Director of Field Education in other programmatic andaccreditation matters. The PSC communicates with other teams withinthe department and other university departments to facilitatecollaboration, as well.

The working environment in which one will typically perform theessential functions of this position is a climate-controlled officesetting. It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate.(Define if outdoor, dusty, weather conditions, etc.)
Use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) is required fortravel in the performance of the essential functions of thisposition. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptableDMV record, and liability insurance is required.

Compensation is determined based on factors such as qualifications,experience, education, skills, and certifications, along withUniversity needs and external market conditions. Market benchmarksmay be used, as appropriate, in combination with internal equity toensure pay is fair and aligned with the broader compensationstructure.
