Job summary

Grafton Public Schools seeks a Paraprofessional at South Grafton Elementary in Grafton, MA. You will provide behavioral and learning support for students with varied needs, under the supervision of the school principal.

Responsibilities include adapting materials, supporting small groups, and implementing behavioral plans while maintaining confidentiality and data records for assigned students. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to utilize de-escalation techniques and protective measures as trained.
• Able to physically assist students who may be 50 pounds or greater.
• Willingness to collaborate with a team and other staff.
• May include assisting other buildings where staffing is needed.

Responsibilities

• Modify instructional materials to meet student needs under the guidance of the special education teacher.
• Foster independence by helping students with routines and tasks.
• Support individuals or small groups in instructional programming.
• Assist during lunch, assemblies, recess, and field trips.
• Follow behavioral plans with consistent contingencies and prompts.
• Aid daily living skills as required.
• Collect, organize, graph, and maintain data for assigned students.
• Attend confidential meetings and provide feedback on progress and challenges.
• Maintain confidentiality inside and outside the school.
• Complete brief summaries of student performance daily.
• Manage challenging behaviors with prompting and safe holds as needed.
• Identify antecedents and intervene to reduce incidents.
• Apply Discrete Trials and ABA teaching methods.
• Attend scheduled training/workshops.
• Monitor bus safety during rides.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
