The position emphasizes assisting with instruction, behavior management, and data/documentation for student progress, alongside collaboration with staff and adherence to district practices.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred.
• Spanish language skills strongly preferred.
• Experience with 9-12 grade students strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists teachers in supervising classroom and school-wide learning activities.
• Provides instruction to students as prescribed by the supervising teacher and reinforces skills.
• Assists teachers in checking and evaluating students’ work; reinforces skills in small groups.
• Uses positive behavior strategies to manage student behavior and maintain order.
• Prepares instructional reports, forms, schedules and records as required.
• Attends meetings and in-services as required.
• Keeps up to date on current technology and practices used by SPS.
• Adapts classroom activities to support and reinforce objectives per IEPs.
