Qualifications

• Experience and knowledge of interventional and administrative duties to support nursing and patient care.
• Assists in direct care and management of patients with medical and behavioral issues.
• Assists with unit programming to facilitate therapy issues, activities of daily living.
• Knowledge of dual diagnosis/chemical dependency/mental health patients and regulatory standards.
• Strong communication, writing and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with computer systems and software.
• CPR, Verbal De-Escalation and Handle With Care certifications required.
• Strong documentation, organization and time management.
• Decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as unit receptionist; answer phone calls, direct visitors and professionals.
• Provide patient care support as a Mental Health/Behavioral Technician.
• Monitor status of laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Conduct daily chart audits to ensure documentation is present.
• Prepare charts for admissions.
• Distribute discharge paperwork to providers and agencies.
• File paperwork as needed.
